Topographic Surveys

Topographic Surveys are surveys which detail the topographic nature of a parcel of land.

They will typically show:
Ground contours at a specified elevation interval (most commonly, 1' intervals) Existing Structures Existing pavement, sidewalks, concrete foundations and other such items Visible evidence of above ground or underground utilities Trees, fences or other lines of occupation Sanitary and/or Storm Sewer invert elevations if required

The most typical purpose for a topographic survey is for an owner's, engineer's, architect's or developer's use in designing improvements for the land. By themselves, these types of surveys do not locate boundary lines, but they can be paired with a boundary survey if need be. In cases like this, you can also expect them to show:

Encroachments and lines of occupation Measurements from structure/building corners to Property lines Any new corners set Any existing corners found
